What do you NEED to buy on MAUI?
Seriously? NEED to buy! Think about it... Everything we buy has an impact on the planet. Not just the item itself and the materials that went into it, the energy to make it, etc.. and how did it get here? Most likely it took a lot of fuel to ship it here, fossil fuels, which you should already know how terrible these are for the planet and those on it! How about the packaging? Is that plastic? Another fossil fuel. Is that going to be thrown into the trash? Perhaps the item was made in a sweat shop across the ocean....
If you must buy something, it is best to always look for local, organic, recycled materials whenever possible, and really think about what all went into that item...
If you do need a gift or souvenir from Maui How about a donation to a non profit, that is actually helping to protect this place! Or take home a homeless animal! Over 65% of animals brought the local "shelter" are killed! and over 90% of them are healthy! If you rent a car from Bio-Beetle ECO Rental Cars, we will loan you things like coolers, boogie boards, reusable shopping bags, tour books, etc... for FREE!
If you do buy something, or have something you do not want to take home with you, please donate it to one of the resale shops!
